The evening will open with welcoming remarks by our CEO, Datuk Almalena Sharmila Johan, followed by a special presentation from Ms. Wan Hilwanie Ariff (Managing Partner, Ariff & Co. and Immediate Past President, International Malaysian Society of Maritime Law) titled “Demystifying the Shipping World: Arbitration, Law and Trends”.
This will be followed by a panel discussion, “Judging the Tide: Harmonising Maritime Dispute Resolution Across Southeast Asia”. YA Tuan Ong Chee Kwan, The Hon. Justice Gopinath P., and Adv. Joy Thattil will discuss emerging trends in shipping litigation and arbitration, offer comparative perspectives on chartering disputes, and examine how different jurisdictions are navigating maritime legal challenges. The session will be moderated by Dato’ Mary Lim Thiam Suan, Director of the AIAC.
