Asian Sports ADR Summit - Mastering the Playbook

The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived! The AIAC and the Sports Law Association of Malaysia (SLAM) proudly introduce the much-anticipated line-up for the ‘Asian ADR Sports Summit: Mastering the Playbook’, scheduled on Friday, 19th January 2024.
The Summit will kick off with Welcoming Remarks from our Director, Datuk Sundra Rajoo. Following this, we have a Keynote Address from the distinguished YAM Tunku Tan Sri Dato' Seri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja'afar al-Haj, a titan in the development of sports ADR and administration in Malaysia. This will be followed by the official launch of the summit and a presentation of the Asian Sports Arbitration Rules by the AIAC’s Case Counsel, Mr. Sanjev Sharma.
The first session of the summit, titled "From the Drawing Board to the Pitch: Leveraging Institutional Rules in Sports-Related Disputes," will be moderated by our Director and include esteemed speakers, namely The Honourable Justice Dato’ Anand Ponnudurai (High Court Judge, Malaysian Judiciary), Ms. Mary B.L. Thomson (Pacific Chambers), and Ms. Lyn Tan (The Asian Football Confederation [AFC]).
The afternoon session, "Game of Strategies: The Legal Frontiers of Technology in Sports," will feature SLAM's Ms. Lesley Lim as the moderator, leading an intriguing panel discussion with Mr. Majed Garaub (Garoub & Associates), Mr. Lau Kok Keng (Rajah & Tann), and Mr. Yudistira Adipratama (K-CASE Lawyer).
The final session of the summit will see Mr. Niloy Banerjee (United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Malaysia), Ms. Sarina Sundara Rajah (Safe Sport Malaysia), and Mr. Thomas Dalaye-Fortin (Badminton World Federation [BWF]) taking on the session titled "Keeping Spirits High: Combating Exploitation and Misconduct within the Sports Community." SLAM's Ms. Samrith Kaur will moderate this session.
Closing remarks by the President of SLAM, Mr. Sri Sarguna Raj, will bring the curtain down on the summit. But the night is not over!
As participants make their way to the AIAC's Pavilion Foyer and Seminar Rooms, a unique Fireside Reflection titled "Forging Greatness and Counting the Cost" will feature national athletes and icons, namely Dato' Sri Megat D. Shahriman bin Dato' Zaharudin (Paralympic Council Malaysia/ Goalball Association of Malaysia), Datuk Shalin Zulkifli (31-Time Gold Medallist in Ten-pin Bowling/ Former Sportswoman of the Year), and Ms. Noraseela Mohd Khalid (4-Time Gold Medallist in 400 Meters Hurdles/ Former Sportswoman of the Year).
