Arbitration-In-Practice (AIP) Workshop Series 2022
The AIAC in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Malaysia Branch) (“CIArb”) is pleased to unveil its second edition of the Arbitration-In-Practice Workshop Series ("AIP Workshop") 2022 which is designed in a lecture format with the requirement for advance preparation of case studies as well as breakout discussions with tutors and the conduct of mock exercises on, amongst others, examination of witness, conduct of hearings, and drafting of arbitral awards. Selected senior and prominent arbitrators will feature as lecturers and tutors throughout these workshops.
A total of eight (8) monthly workshops are set to take place between April 2022 and November 2022 as follows:
- Impartiality, Independence, Availability, Duties and Obligations of an Arbitrator
- Jurisdictional Issues and Challenges to the Arbitral Tribunal
- Preliminary Meeting, Pre-Hearing Considerations and Powers of the Arbitral Tribunal
- Joinders and Consolidation
- Interim Measures and Emergency Arbitrators
- Conduct of Hearings & Witness Examination
- Drafting Awards & Enforcement
- Case Law Update
The AIP Workshop series is open to both, first timers and practicing arbitrators. Limited seats are available for each Workshop to ensure optimum results in the delivery of the Workshop and tutor-participant ratio. A registration fee of RM120.00 is payable for each Workshop.
The AIP Workshop series will also take place in hybrid format with in-person and virtual attendance as options. The in-person format will take place in Bangunan Sulaiman with all necessary physical distancing practices in place, whilst the virtual format will take place by way of Zoom. Absent any travel restrictions, we encourage participants to sign up for the in-person format for maximum engagement given the interactive style adopted for the AIP Workshop series.
