Arbitration-In-Practice (AIP) Workshop Series - Due Diligence Prior To and Post First Preliminary Meeting
We are pleased to invite you to register for the AIAC and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Malaysia Branch) 2nd Arbitration-In-Practice (AIP) workshop titled, "Due Diligence Prior To and Post First Preliminary Meeting" on Saturday, 10th July 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (MYT). The workshop will be conducted live via Zoom.
This workshop serves as an important refresher to already qualified arbitrators as well as for arbitrators-in-waiting. The experienced speakers for this workshop will include Dato’ Varghese George (vargharb CHAMBERS) and Mr. Nahendran Navaratnam (Navaratnam Chambers), and will see participants guided through various sub-issues, for example:
1. Preliminary review of parties’ early written submissions.
2. Early assessment into the complexities of an issue and considerations as to the employment of different procedural techniques.
3. Preparations to be considered prior to a Preliminary Meeting, including drafting a Procedural Order and time management for a proceeding.
4. Steps to be taken after the first preliminary meeting.
This workshop is also designed to include an interactive tutorial session led by Mr. Shanta Mohan Balasubramaniam (Chambers of Shanta Mohan) and Ms. Catherine Chau (Catherine Chau & Associates). The tutorial session includes drafting exercise and in-depth discussions of the workshop topic.
