Evening Talk - Business and Human Rights Arbitration : A New Frontier
The AIAC and the AIAC YPG are delighted to present the first Evening Talk in 2020 titled, “Business and Human Rights Arbitration: A New Frontier” on 21st January 2020 at the AIAC at 6:00 PM.
The international arbitration community has witnessed a swing of the pendulum in international arbitration where the focus shifted from commercial interest and investment protection to human rights affected by commerce and foreign investment activities. The Evening Talk could not be more timely considering the launch of the Hague Rules on Business and Human Rights Arbitration (the “Hague Rules”) last year. The Panel will explore how business and human rights disputes can be resolved by way of arbitration and navigate challenges in respect thereof.
We are honoured to have Mr. Cecil Rajendra (a renowned Malaysian lawyer, poet and the Recipient of the IBA Pro Bono Award 2019), Professor Diane Desierto (Associate Professor of Human Rights and Global Affairs and a Member of the Drafting Team of the Hague Rules), as well as Mr. Antony Crockett (Senior Consultant, Herbert Smith Freehills) as the Speakers for this Evening Talk. The session will be moderated by Ms. Irene Mira (International Case Counsel, AIAC).
The Evening Talk is free but seats are limited. For more information and to register, please email: events@aiac.world.
