Advocacy in International Arbitration
We are pleased to invite you to an evening talk co-organised by the AIAC and 39 Essex Chambers, titled "Advocacy in International Arbitration."
DATE: Wednesday, 4th December 2019
TIME: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM (followed by a networking session)
LOCATION: Seminar Room 1, Pavilion, AIAC
Advocacy is a specialist skill. It draws on the forensic and the artistic. As famously put: ‘There is an art to science, and a science in art; the two are not enemies, but different aspects of the whole.’ The legal profession does not have a monopoly on advocacy, but its practitioners’ quality and excellence in this specialism distinguishes the profession from others.
Join Joe-han Ho (39 Essex Chambers, London) and Louise Azmi (Barrister-at-Law England and Wales & Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya), for an evening where they draw on the forensic and the artistic, and share their experience and thoughts on advocacy in international arbitration. Their talk will focus on three areas, namely case preparation and strategy, making submissions, and cross-examination. This session will be moderated by AIAC's International Case Counsel, Abinash Barik.
