AALCO Annual Arbitration Forum
The Asian-African Legal Consultative Organisation (AALCO) Annual Arbitration forum will be held on 21 - 22 July 2018. This forum coincides with the 40th year anniversary of the Asian International Arbitration Centre’s (formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration) establishment under the auspices of the AALCO. It will place a special focus on Connecting Asia and Africa, Connecting Investment and ADR: Opportunities and Challenges.
Established in 1956, AALCO was the fruit of the Bandung Conference in Bandung Indonesia. The AALCO monitors the development of regional centres for arbitration, and respective directors of Centres are required to present progress reports at every annual AALCO session.
Established in 1978, the Centre which was formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) was the first arbitration centre in Asia to be established under the AALCO. Since inception, the Centre has evolved into a global hub for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
