3rd IPBA Asia-Pac Arbitration Day 2017

The third edition of the IPBA Asia Pac Arbitration Day held jointly with the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration, built on the success of the previous 2015 and 2016 events held in Kuala Lumpur. Acclaimed speakers and keen international delegate participation were replicated again this year with a focus on trending issues in the arbitration world.

KLRCA Certificate Program in Sports Arbitration  

SFC Launch

 

The KLRCA Certificate Program for Sports Arbitration returned for a second time following a successful inaugural edition in 2016, which saw 50 candidates from across the globe successfully completing the course and going on to play significant roles in the resolution of sporting.

 KLRCA i-Arbitration Rules 2017

The Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) has recently released the KLRCA i-Arbitration Rules 2017 (the"i-Rules"), which came into effect on 9th June 2017. 

 

The i-Rules is a certain and predictable legal framework to solving disputes from contracts involving Shariah principles, allowing parties the autonomy and flexibility of international commercial arbitration...

 The Rise of Domain Names: How to Protect Them?

The current rising trend in e-commerce has led to an increase in the number of domain name registrations worldwide. In Malaysia, as of September 2017, there was a total of 327,109 ".my" domain names registered. These numbers, however, have inevitably led to a surge of legal concerns and disputes regarding the use and ownership of domain names already registered. In order to settle such disputes in a more resourceful manner than litigation, a party may turn to an alternative solution offered by Domain Name Dispute Resolution (DNDR) providers, such as Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration.
