Valuation & Event Analysis in International Arbitration
The talk will focus on the role of valuation in international arbitration, covering the major types of disputes requiring valuation evidence. It will survey comparatively the different methods, comparing cost approaches, market approaches and income approaches.
It will consider specific problems that can occur in emerging markets. It will then look more closely at the technique known as events analysis, one of the ways to value the impact of new information and the impact of breaches. It will explain the mechanics of event analysis, its theoretical justification and assess its relative advantages and disadvantages. The analysis of the technique will be conducted in the context of NERA’s extensive testifying experience.
